Research Interpretation

  • Structural judgments describe only research within the mapped research structure — never the whole institution.
  • Research with no detectable internal structure is not treated as research with no activity — two things often conflated.
  • Traditional community-coverage metrics can misread internationally-embedded research as “missing.” Moirai corrects this.

Methodology →

Research communities identified through Leiden-based clustering using semantic embeddings of research findings. Communities classified by Research Dynamics Engine v2.1.4 using field-normalised 3-year linear regression slopes.

Data Sources

Corpus: 389M+ papers · 108M+ extracted research findings. Sources: OpenAlex, Crossref, ORCID (researcher identity), UKRI GtR (UK funding evidence). This is an internal analytical framework – not affiliated with THE, QS, ARWU, or any external ranking body.
